Far West "Far" is an easily handled gentlman with an impressive pedigree and competition career. He is fast and scopey around the jump course, yet easily ridden by amateur riders at the 1.50m Grand Prix level. He consistently produces offspring that are exceptionally easy to start. The offspring show determination and technical proficiency in high level riding rings.
Far was bred by Belgium's 4-time Olympic competitor Ludo Philippearts in France. His sire was a leading French show jumper, while his dam's lines are recognized for their strong performance at international competitions.
Far began his show career as the top 4 and 5 year show jumper in France. He moved on to be an international Grand Prix horse that competed all over Europe. Darragh Kerrins, a successful Irish International Grand Prix Jumper has ridden Far in many FEI Classes. Far retired sound from competition in 2010.
Far was imported to the USA as a FEI Grand Prix 'School Master' for Heather Caristo Williams; One of the top American show jumpers. Far produced offspring at the prestegious Spy Coast Farms, in Kentucky, USA. In 2012, Far was imported into Canada by Maximum Equestrian where he continues to produce high-performaing offspring.
